Nepal Health Professional Council (NHPC) has been striving to fulfill its responsibilities mandated by the nation through Nepal Health Professional Council Act 2053 BS and Nepal Health Professional Council Regulation 2056. Nepal Health Professional Council (NHPC) has paved the way to regulate the health professionals (except doctors and nurses). Its primary purpose is to protect the public by providing quality health services. The council acts as a facilitator for the professionals. As the statutory authority since its establishment, NHPC has been registering health professionals graduated in country and abroad, implementing a code of ethics for different levels of health professionals, and monitoring to ensure that health professionals are practicing being obliged to their professional ethics.
For providing the quality health service to the people and that NHCP is also responsible to make the code of ethics for the health professionals according to the level of their registered subject in accordance with NHPC act 2053 clause 9 sub clause 1 section. Now NHPC is going to implement the code of ethics for all registered clinical psychologists. NHPC has determined to implement the code of ethics for professionals on all subjects, according to their minimum qualification and their training objectives.
It will help to provide quality services by the defined health professionals and to avoid dispute and confusion of task and duty during their professional activities according to their qualification and registered levels.
